rugs are the plague of modern society. They have ruined countless millions of lives since the drug culture was popularized in the 1960s. Illicit drugs are a multibillion-dollar industry flooding the world market with everything from marijuana to heroin, cocaine and synthetic “designer drugs.”
But illegal drugs are not the only problem. Today, we live in a “brave new world” where a pill has become the answer to any problem — depression, anxiety or simply a child’s inability to sit still in a classroom.
Drug use is often only a symptom of a larger spiritual problem in life which the individual is unable or unwilling to cope with. At the root of a drug problem one usually finds shattered relationships, personal tragedy or physical and emotional pain.
