rug use became a tragedy that affected my entire family. My two older brothers began taking heroin at the ages of 16 and 18 and remained addicts for many years. Drugs cost both of them their lives one committed suicide, the other died of cirrhosis of the liver. I, too, became involved with drugs.
One day I was invited to a lecture at a local Church of Scientology. Curious, I attended with a friend. As I listened to the speaker, I realized that here was what I had been looking for recognition of the spiritual realm of life. Everything made sense and solutions were being presented, not more theories. The information was presented from the view that one should not accept something as true unless he observes it to be true for himself.
Today, 25 years later, I am still off drugs and active in Scientology. I have learned what spiritual awareness is and how to attain it.
I know there is hope for mankind and the promise of true freedom, and I now have the tools with which to truly help others. My wish for others is that they too will take the opportunity to look into Scientology for themselves or for their loved ones. I know my brothers would be alive today if they had done so.
